Many churches struggle to connect with their communities and feel overwhelmed by local needs, as exemplified by a church in Asuncion, Paraguay, facing declining membership and pandemic-related challenges. However, through partnership with Brethren Global Partners, these churches can rediscover their mission, address urgent needs, and share the Gospel through acts of compassion and service.

Pastor and author Harold Warner shared the following insight, “The true character of ministry is a servant's heart.” It is in this spirit that Summit Ridge Community Church marked a significant milestone on Sunday, March 23rd, as it commissioned Randall Hartman as Pastor of Students and licensed Justin Brunenkant as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ within the Brethren Church denomination. The special service underscored the church's commitment to fostering leadership and empowering individuals called to ministry. The commissioning and licensing represent a formal recognition by both Summit Ridge Community Church and the Brethren Church of the distinct gifts and passions that Randall and Justin bring to their respective areas of ministry. Randall Hartman's deep passion for ministering to students was celebrated, acknowledging his commitment to guiding and nurturing the spiritual growth of the younger generation within the church. Similarly, Justin Brunenkant's fervent dedication to pastoral ministry was affirmed, recognizing his calling to shepherd and help lead the congregation. In affirming Randall and Justin, Summit Ridge and The Brethren Church have recognized and affirmed their respective calls to ministry – Randall’s passion for ministering to students and Justin’s passion for pastoral ministry. This dual affirmation highlights the collaborative spirit between the local church and the broader denomination in supporting and equipping leaders. Randall and Justin’s energy, dedication, and commitment to serving with a servant's heart are expected to enrich the lives of students and the wider congregation. Congratulations Randall and Justin as you both embark on these new and vital ministry roles within the church!
